Imaad Shah Biography

Imaad Shah is an actor and musician. He is better known as the son of veteran couple of Bollywood - Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak and grandson of actress Dina Pathak. Noted television actress Surekha Sikri is his maternal aunt. He has two siblings and both are related to acting field. Heeba Shah is an actress associated with theatre and cinema. Youngest brother Vivaan Shah is an upcoming Bollywood actor who made his film debut through Saat Khoon Maaf. In 2013, he confirmed that he is in live in relationship with Bollywood actress, Saba Azad of Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge fame.

Like his parents, Imaad too is associated with theater since younger years. He works with theatre company Motley, founded by his father and Benjamin Gilani. ‘Katha collage’, 'Waiting for Godot', 'By George' and 'Manto Ismat Haazir hain' are the noted productions of this group Imaad has associated with. He is also a member of the band, 'The Pulp Society’ and known as its lyricist.

He made his Bollywood debut through 2006 movie, Yun Hota To Kya Hota, directed by none other than Naseeruddin Shah. He appeared in a supporting role, Joy in the movie which included 4 sub-plots eventually become intertwined with 9/11. The movie included Konkona Sen Sharma, Ayesha Takia, Jimmy Shergill, Paresh Rawal and Boman Irani in the pivot roles. Later he appeared in the movies - Dil Dosti Etc, Little Zizou, Tasher Desh, 404 Error Not Found and The Reluctant Fundamentalist. He played lead role in 2011 psychological thriller, 404.  He also composed music for the same movie. The movie received a loud applause from film critics. But thus talented artist feels that he is not meant for Bollywood.
