Saba Azad Biography

Saba Azad is a model, singer, theatre personality and upcoming Bollywood actress who is best known for 2011 movie, Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge of Yash Raj Films Banner. She played lead role opposite Saqib Saleem and this movie based on face book directed by debutant Nupur Asthana was well received by public as well as critics. She was well praised by critics for her acting skills. She made her film debut through Dil Kabaddi in 2008, where she played the supporting role of Raga. In 2013 she made her debut as a playback singer and owns the credits of hit numbers like Dhak Dhak Karne Laga and Dil Ki Toh Lag Gayi of Nautangi saala and Dhoom Anthem of Dhoom 3. Currently she is in a live-in relationship with actor-musician Imaad Shah, son of veteran actors of Bollywood - Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak.

She was born and brought up in Delhi. She is the niece of Safdar Hashmi. She has been associated with theatre group Jana Natya Manch during her childhood as an artist. She is a trained dancer too. Apart from contemporary dance forms, she has also trained in Odissi, ballet, jazz and Latin. She trained Odissi under Kiran Segal and has travelled with her guru across the globe with her stage shows. She moved to Mumbai to pursue her dreams as a model and actress and appeared in a few television commercials. She has also been associated with Prithvi theatre.

Apart from print campaigns, she has done TV commercials of Kit Kat, Vodafone, Sunsilk, Nescafe and many more. She has crooned for bands like Blackstratblues and Ashu & The Petridish Project. Photography is also her passion. Azad started her own theatre company 'The Skins' in 2010. Lukepook was her first directorial venture.
