Since 1961 he was associated with his elder brother, playing cameo roles in his movies, and also played the role of production executive of 1966 super hit, Teesri Manzil. He played cameo roles in Jab Pyar Kise Se Hota Hai and Pyar Ka Mausam, both starring Asha Parekh in lead roles.

As a film producer, super hit ‘Caravan’ marked his debut as a hit film producer in Bollywood.
