Hanan Hameed Biography 
Hanan Hameed is a student from Kodungallur – border town of Ernakulam, Kerala who hit headlines following her part-time job to sell fish to financially support her family became news in 2018. She was a college student when her news of selling fish at Thammanam Junction in Kochi to support her family went viral. Unfortunately she also faced severe trolls from Malayali trollers who claim it to be fake news, and Hanan burst out in tears in front of the media, expressing her grieves, and she became a hero overnight, winning hearts. A few months later, she gave all the money she received from well-wishers for relief fund of Kerala floods 2018. Unfortunately she met with an accident a few months later, which broke her backbone.
Hanan Hameed belongs to a poor family of Kodungallur, Thrissur district. Her family owned a business in pickles which ran well for some time. Her father is originally from Malaysia, who was adopted by a Malayali family. Things were going smooth till the primary school classes of Hanan. When she was studying in class 4, her father met with an accident and he became bedridden. She and her family got into ornament making at home, which was not enough to meet the financial needs of the family. Slowly her father turned alcoholic disrupting family peace.
Later her father left the place with her younger mother, while Hanan and her mother were helped by a friend, who gave shelter in her home. After Plus-2, she started the job at call centre. Her mother also turned a mental patient and occasionally admitted at hospital. She tried different odd jobs and finally settled with fish selling. Fish selling girl in college uniform caught media attention in a very short time.
