Suresh Kalmadi Biography 
Suresh Kalmadi is a senior sports officer and a politician born on the 1st of May 1994, he is a member of parliament from Pune and a member of the Indian National Congress. He studied at St. Vincents High School and then at Fergusson college, Pune. He wished to join the Indian Air Force and hence joined the air force flying college in Jodhpur and Allahabad. He then had a pre-mature exit from the Air Force and opened up a small fast food shop, but not for long. He was soon spotted by Sanjay Gandhi and persuaded to join the Congress party.
He has had an avid political career and was the president of the M.P. youth congress, been a part of the Rajya Sabha for four terms. Presently he is the sitting MP from Pune. He also served as the minister of railways from 1995-1996. He also served as the president of the Indian Olympic association and chairman of the recently concluded organizing committee of the common wealth games.
Suresh Kalmadi has been surrounded by controversies of late the last one being as the chairman of the OC for the Common wealth games. Earlier as the chairman of the Indian Olympic association he wished to bring formula one to India in 2007, the ‘Indian Express’ investigated the matter and came to a conclusion that the two stake holders had something fishy as Sulbha Realty (16%) and the Jaypee group (74%) were the stake holders. While the JP in JPSK stood for Jaypee group, it was alleged that the SK stood for Suresh/Sumeer Kalmadi.
Kalmadi was also scrutinized for his conduct around the 2010 commonwealth games staged in India. With the chief vigilance commission asking for a probe into the organization of the games. Kalmadi still continues to deny the charges of corruption on him. On April 25, 2011 he was arrested due to irregularities in the conduct of the Queens Baton Relay. He is now in the Tihar jail and has got a couple of senior officers into trouble as they let him sit in their cabin and have tea.
