Apurva Agnihotri Biography

Apurva Agnihotri is a Bollywood actor and television actor most popular for supporting role in Subhash Ghai’s Pardes and television serial on Sony Network – Jassi jaisa koi nahin. Pardes was his debut movie where he worked along with Shah Rukh Khan and Mahima Chaudhary and this movie was released in the year 1997, during 50 years of Indian independence. He received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 1997's Zee Cine Awards. He is married to Shilpa Sakhlani, his co-star of his hit serial and together they have appeared in Nach baliye as contestants.

Apurva Agnihotri was born on 2 December 1972. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bhavan's College,Andheri in the year 1993. He started modeling and very soon received an offer to play Mahima Chaudhary’s fiancée in Subhash Ghai’s movie ‘Pardes’. He played a significant role in this movie as an NRI and it’s the most successful movie of his career too. It happened to be the debut movie of Mahima Chaudhary too. He was paired opposite Mahima Chaudhary once again in the movie ‘Pyar koi khel nahin’. Sunny Deol also acted in this movie, but it couldn’t repeat the success of Pardes. However 2001 release, Kasoor, a suspense thriller was a hit at box office. In this movie, he played the role of Lisa Ray’s fiancée and Aftab Shivdasani was the leading hero of this movie.

Despite having good looks, he was not successful as a Bollywood actor and later on did supporting roles only. But he became immensely popular with the serial, Jassi jaisa koi nahin. Arman was the character role played by him. As an actor, other Bollywood movies include - Hum Ho Gaye Aapke, Kroadh, Pyar deewana hota hai, Lakeer and Dhund. In all these movies, he played supporting actor role.

He is quite successful as a serial actor. Apart from Jassi jaisa koi nahin, he has also worked in Kaajjal (October 2006 – September 2007), Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi (February 2008 – February 2009), Pati Patni Aur Woh (TV series) (August – November 2009), Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai (October 2007 – November 2010) and Aasman Se Aage (April – July 2012),. He also acted as judge of Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (2012), a Singing Competition.
