Sunny Deol is a very popular actor of Bollywood known for action scenes and punch dialogues. He debut silver screen with the blockbuster movie, Betaab in 1983 and owns many landmark movies of Hindi cinema including Border and Gaddar – Ek prem katha. In 2001, the movie broke all box office collection records of Indian cinema, breaking the previous record of Hum aapke hain kaun (1994). His other top movies include – Sunny, Ghatak, Jeet, Darr, Arjun, Apne, Chaalbaaz, Paap ki duniya, Tridev, Yamla Pagla deewana (1 and 2) and Ziddi. He is the son of great actor of yesterdays – Dharmendra and step son of dream girl of Indian screen – Hema Malini. Actor Bobby Deol is his younger brother, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, his half-sisters and Abhay Deol his cousin. His two sisters Vijayta Deol and Ajeeta Deol are settled in California.

Sunny was born in Punjab as the eldest son of Bollywood actor Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur. Deol made his debut opposite debutant Amrita Singh in Betaab (1983). The movie became a huge blockbuster and launched the successful career of both these actors. Later Sunny established as a successful action hero of Bollywood. In many ways, his styles and mannerisms resembled his father a lot. Audience too, loved to compare his acting talents and dialogue delivery with Dharmendra. During 1990’s and early 2000’s too, Sunny continued his success run in Bollywood delivering hits one after the other. Sunny, along with Dharmendra and Bobby appeared together in three movies – Apne (2007), Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011) and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (2013) and all these movies were well received by public.

 
Among heroines, his onscreen chemistry with Dimple Kapadia and Sri Devi were noted most. He owns two success movies aside Juhi Chawla – blockbuster Darr and moderate hit – Arjun Pandit. Till now, Sunny Deol has received four nominations at Filmfare awards for best actor – Betaab, Ghayal, Border and Gaddar. He won it in the year 1990 for Ghayal, beating powerful performances of Big B in Agneepath and Aamir Khan in Dil. Sunny Deol has won two National awards till now. In 1991, he won special Jury award for Ghayal and in 1993, for the movie 'Damini', he received Best supporting actor award.
