Juhi Chawla Biography

Juhi Chawla is one among the most talented actresses of Hindi cinema. She was the most popular actress of silver screen during 90’s after Madhuri Dixit. At present, she is a film producer and occasionally acts for a few movies as well. She owns a few blockbuster hits in her name – Qayamat se qayamat tak, Yes Boss, Darr, Deewana masthana, Hum hai rahi pyar ke and Ishq. Her other big hits include – Raju ban gaya gentleman, The gentleman, Andaz, 3 Deewarein, Prathibandh, Jhankar beats, My brother Nikhil, Paheli, I am, Mr and Mrs. Khiladi, Loafer, Swarg, Bol radha bol, Arjun Pandit, Darrar, Shatranj, Benaam Badsha and Aina. She has also acted in Malayalam blockbuster hit – Hari Krishanans opposite Mohan Lal and Mamootty in the year 1998.  She has won Filmfare awards for her performance in Hum hai rahi pyar ke and has been nominated for QSQT, Prathibandh, Yes Boss, Bol radha bol and Daraar.  She has been Nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award in the year 2011 for her performance in ‘I am’. She has appeared in the super hit song ‘Lagee aaj sawan ki’ of Chandini.

She was Miss India 1984 and her Miss India crown paved her easy way to movies. She was seen in less significant and less glamorous roles of a first few movies till Quyamat se Quayamat tak happened to her in 1988. This movie and its music are regarded as the trendsetters of modern Bollywood cinema and sweet romantic pairing of Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla became a huge hit. They worked together in a few more films like Love love love, Tum mere ho, Hum hain rahi pyar ke and Ishq. After Ishq, due to personal indifference they decided that they will never work together again.

After that her pairing with SRK was noted most. They worked together for the first time in Aziz Mirza’s Raju ban gaya gentleman and second time with ‘Yes Boss’. Both these movies were successful too. However much awaited project ‘Duplicate’ was a flop. Together, along with Aziz Mirza they started a new production company, Dreamz unlimited with the first movie ‘Phir bhi dil hai hindusthani’. The movie starring Juhi and Shah Rukh Khan in the leading roles was a flop. The next year, their venture, 1 2 ka 4 was also declared flop. She has appeared in a cameo role in Om Shanti Om and two are great friends and co-producers till now.

As an actress, other movies of Juhi Chawla include – Bhootnath, Saat rang ke sapne, Kismat connection, Luck by chance, Krazzy 4, Gang, Safari, Jhoot bole kauwa kaate, Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute To Love, 7 ½ phere, Home Delivery: Aapko... Ghar Tak, Ek rishta, bandhish, Lootere,  Talaashi, Aatang hi aatang, Bhagyawan and Son of Sardaar.  Now she is busy shooting her first movie with actress Madhuri Dixit. The movie is titled Gulaab gang. Juhi is doing negative character.
