Aftab Shivdasani Biography

Aftab Shivdasani is one among those who have started the acting career as a child model in ads. He was popular during 1980’s through ads shown in advertisements. When he was just 14 months old, he was selected as Farex baby; this incident marked as the beginning point of his ad career. Apart from commercials of health drinks and chocolates, he acted in a few tele serials of Doordarshan as well. As a child actor, he debut through Mr.India, one among those naughty orphans whom Anil Kapoor bring up as kids. He appeared in Shehanshaah and Chaalbaaz too. Surprisingly, Sri devi played the leading role of the lady in these 3 movies. He did the leading role in tele serial ‘Stone boy’ of Doordarshan during 1992-93.

As hero, he got a big break through Ram Gopal Varma’s Mast opposite Urmila in 1999. Though he was much younger than the heroine, this movie was accepted by audience as he played the role of a waiter who is seriously in love with an actress of big screen. He was chosen as the promising star and best debut male in Zee Cine awards as well as Star Screen awards. After two years, suspense Thriller Kasoor was released opposite the model Lisa Ray. The movie was success, he got critics appreciation too. He was nominated for his negative role too. But then it was followed by a succession of flops. Love ke liye kuch bhi karega, Pyar ishq aur mohabbat, Koi mere dil se pooche, kya yehi pyar hai, Jaani dushman and Pyasa. But his movie multi-starrer Awara pagal Deewana was a moderate success at box office. He got good reviews as a lover boy for his role in Kya yahi pyar hai, though the movie flopped at box office. This movie can be counted among the hit musicals.

In 2003, his sinking career submerged somewhere through the surprise hits of Hungama and Drana mana hai. But again his career sank through the movies Foot path, Suno sasurjee and Sukriya. It was not easy for him to get out of the chocolate image – an image that has been linked up with him since he was selected as farex boy. After that only one movie has been successful whole throughout his career – it’s multistar comedy of Indra Kumar ‘Masthi’. Let us wait for some surprise packages soon.
