T. N. Manoharan Biography 
T. N. Manoharan is an Indian banker who currently serves as the Chairman of Canara Bank, one of the largest public sector banks in India. He is a freemason and a Chartered Accountant who has earlier served as the president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He also owns numerous students and is known as a popular teacher. For his contributions towards the field of Indian banking and finance, Government of India honoured him with the fourth highest civilian honour - Padma Shri in 2010. He was one among the members appointed by central government to restructuring the company after the scandal of leading IT company, Satyam Computers.
T. N. Manoharan was born in Tamil Nadu on April 7, 1956 into a family of freedom fighters. His family also owns agriculture background. He completed Master's in Commerce from Sri Venkateshwara University and LLB from Madras Law College. He became a Chartered Accountant in 1983 and set up his own practice the same year, and co-founded Manohar Chowdhry & Associates in Chennai. He got elected to the central council of ICAI in 2001 and as its Vice President in 2005. The following year he was elected as its President. He has been a member of various committees throughout 2000s, and was a Central Council Member till 2007.
When Satyam Computer Services scandal rocked the whole nation in 2009, a group of 6 members were appointed by government to look into the issue, and Manoharan was one among those. Restructuring the company was one among his assigned responsibilities. He has also published numerous books on taxation. He is currently a board member of Mahindra & Mahindra and Tech Mahindra, apart from serving as the Chairman of Canara Bank.
