Rangaraj Pandey Biography
Rangaraj Pandey is a journalist by profession and media personality who currently serves as the Chief News Editor of Tamil TV Channel – Thanthi TV, 24 hours Tamil News Channel. He is associated with Thanthi since March 2013 and currently hosts two shows for the channel. He is also known as a good orator. His prime time program, ‘Ayutha Ezhuthu‘, a news debate program based on current affairs appears on Thanthi TV every day at 8 Pm. He also hosts the talk show “Kelviku Enna Baddil” (What is the answer to this question?)– where he interviews notable news-making personalities. The show has successfully completed 150 episodes. Pandey is one of the most recognised news personalities in Tamil Nadu at present.
He originally belongs to Srivilliputhur of Virudhnagar District and he is currently settled in Chennai. Pandey’s passion to journalism started quite at a very young age. He was only in his 11th standard when he came out with a handwritten magazine. He completed post-graduation in Tamil from the prestigious Madurai Kamaraj University and started his professional career with Dinamalar in 1999. He used to write a satire column - "Doubt Thanabalu" in Dinamalar. After a long association with Dinamalar, he joined Thanthi TV in 2012. Since then he has been promoted twice within a time span of 6 months and finally promoted to the editor-in-chief of the channel.
His interviews with famous personalities on Thanthi TV make him a popular person, though it invites a few debates as well, mostly related to religious, communal and political issues. Very often his comments supporting Hinduism and BJP have earned him bad remarks in social media. He has chatted with then prime-ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and BCCI head N Srinivasan through his show - “Kelvika Enna Baddil”. Apart from the role as a TV host, he also serves as the executive editor, Public Relations and Communications.
