Jayanthasri Balakrishnan Biography 
Jayanthasri BalaKrishnan is one among the best public speakers in Tamil. She is a double doctorate in Tamil and English. In 1988, completed Ph.D. (English) in Pondicherry University. In 2009, Ph.D. (Tamil) in Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore. She is a guide of Bharathiyar University both for Tamil and English. Kuruntokai is a classic tamil literary work. She did her research in the English renderings of Kuruntokai which deals with the problems of translating the Tamil text Kurunthokai. As she had a good experience by working as a 'Chief Editor in central Institute of Classic Tamil, Mysore, she was able to bring an updated translated version of Tamil vintage classic, "Kuruntokai in English.
For her doctorate in Tamil, she submitted her thesis on Tamil writer Jayakanthan's novellas. She is an educationist, writer, poet, feminist and a translator and has widely varying interests including literary theory, theatre and drama. She is also doing as a student counselor, she also had proved her mettle as a soft skills advisor. She has been lauded by 'The Hindu' newspaper in ‘The Personality of the week’ for her distinct thoughts on education. She gives several television programs, she also presents a program name 'Manadhil Urudhi Vendum' in Kalaignar TV. She worked as a sub-editor of the magazine Disaigal. In a competition which is conducted by Ananda Vikatan, she received 'Best short story writer award' from Tamil writer Sujatha. She has also published her short story collection in the name of 'Mazhaivil Manidhargal (Men of Rainbows). She has done some other translation works like 'Ainkurunuru' and some other works of Tamil writers such as Bharathi, Kalyanji and so.
