Krishna Sekhar Biography

Kreshna is the screen name of south Indian actor, Krishna Kulasekaran. He is the younger brother of noted film director, Vishnuvardhan. Kreshna's father is film producer K. K. Sekar, also known by the name PattiyalSekar. Mani Ratnam's Anjali in the year 1990 marked his big screen debut as a child actor followed by Iruvar and The terrorist, in the late 1990’s. His early films were credited with the name - Krishna Sekhar.

Krishna Kulasekaranwas born to film producer K.K.Sekar in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. His schooling was done at St. Bede's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai and then studied at Loyola College. Later he completed Master in Business Administration in finance in the United States. Then he worked for 18 months in IT industry before starting his own business. The business firm was doing fairly well when he stepped into film industry. He trained jazz and contemporary dance before doing his MBA course in US.

His first screen appearance was for the movie, Anjali where he was one among the mischievous kids’ group.  In the second half of 1990’s, he appeared in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar and Santosh Sivan's The Terrorist. Both these movies were critically well acclaimed movies, shown in many international film festivals. He played the younger version of Rajinikanth's character in Thalapathi. But his role was edited due to the length of the movie. In 2004, he appeared in an uncredited role in Udaya.

2008 marked his debut as hero in the movie, Alibhabha where he got opportunity to work with veterans like Thilakan and Prakash raj. The movie earned him a nomination at Vijay film awards for best male debut. But the movie was a box office failure. His next two films Kattradhu Kalavu and Kazhugu were produced by his father. Vanavarayan Vallavarayan, Vanman, Vizhithiru and Yaamirukka Bayamey are his upcoming releases.
