Aarya Babbar Biography

Aarya Babbar, also pronounced as Arya Babbar is a Bollywood actor who acts in Punjabi movies also. He is the son of famous actor and politician, Raj Babbar and scriptwriter and theatre personality, Nadira Babbar. Theatre and film actress Juhi babbar is his sister. Prateik Babbar (born to Raj Babbar and Smita Patel) is his half-brother. He is known for his debut movie, Ab ke baras which marked the debut of Bollywood actress Amrita Rao, though the movie flopped at box office terribly. As he couldn’t find success in lead roles, he moved to character roles in Bollywood and also did Punjabi movies. He has also written a comic book named Pushpak Viman.

When he was a child, his father left the family and got married to co-actress Smita Patel. But following her death, Babbar returned back to Nadira and the family accepted him. He is younger to actress Juhi Babbar. He debut in the year 2002 movie, Ab ke baras telling the story of incarnation. The movie was a flop at box office. But he won National Award of the Journalist Association for Upcoming Actor in Action. He also received a nomination at Star Screen Awards in Most Promising Newcomer - Male category.

Later he appeared in a couple of flops - Mudda: The Issue and Thoda Tum Badlo Thoda Hum. He was paired opposite Shriya saran in Thoda Tum Badlo Thoda Hum. But he got opportunity to work with Mani Ratnam in the critically well acclaimed movie, Guru. He played supporting role of Aishwarya Rai’s younger brother’s role in this movie. He appeared as a cope in Farah Khan’s Tees maar Khan. He played supporting roles in Dangerous Ishq, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, Ready, Joker and Zindagi 50-50. Virsa, Yaar Annmulle, Jatts In Golmaal, Heer and Hero and Naughty Jatts are his Punjabi movies.
