Farah Khan Biography

Farah Khan is a successful choreographer and director of Bollywood. She has started her acting career too, in the year 2012. She is the director who has given Shah rukh khan blockbusters – Om Shanthi Om and Mein hoon naa and proved that woman power can also achieve big heights in film industry. Her brother Sajid Khan is a successful producer, director as well as a comedian who performs for many television channels. Her husband is editor Shirish Khunder, whom she fall in love in the sets of her directorial debut Mein hoon na. They are blessed with three kids and enjoying a happy family as well as a successful career life.

She joined the industry as a choreographer and still she enjoys the top position giving numerous hits like Chayya chayya of Dil se, Sheila ki jawani of Tees maar khan, Munni badnaam of Debaang, Pehla nasha of Woh jeetha wohi sikander, Idhar chala and It’s magic of Koi mil gaya, all songs of Kaho naa pyar hai including Ik pal ka jeena, Tumse milka and tumhe meine dekha of Mein hoon naa, Mehndi laga ke of DDLJ, all songs of Dil to pagal hai, poo pookum and Oo lala of Minsara Kanavu and many more. For the career spanning around 20 years, she has become the indispensible part of Bollywood and its choreography. No doubt, she is the most successful choreographer of the industry winning many awards and appreciation.

When the top choreographer of early 90’s Saroj Khan walked out of the movie ‘Jo jeetha wohi sikander’ she got her first break. Pehla nasha is the first movie song ever picturised in slow motion. This single song was enough to place her in the list of top choreographers that time and she began to climb success steps one by one rapidly. She has close relationship with Shah Rukh Khan and have given wonderful steps for many movies including DDLJ, Kuch kuch hota hai, Dil to pagal hai, Dil se and many more. That’s the reason why she casted him in her first two movies. Both were record breakers that time.

As a director her first movie was Mein hoon naa. She has also directed Om Shanthi Om and Tees maar khan. Her fourth venture Happy New Year is under production and will be released very soon. She has won Filmfare awards for choreography 6 times and National awards once. She got star screen awards 5 times for choreography and once for debut director.
