Yugendran Biography

Yugendran is a Tamil film actor, music director and playback singer. He started his film journey as an actor in the year 2001 with the movie, Poovellam Un Vasam. 2007 movie, Veeramum Eeramum marked his new career beginning as a music director. Balam was his debut movie as a full-fledged music director. Pollaachi Santhaiyile was his debut song as a playback singer. Muthal Muthalai of Laysa Laysa, Kozhi Vandhadha of Aahaa, Parthen Parthen of Parthenrasithen and Kalayanamthan Katti of Saamy were his earliest hits as a playback singer. He is the son of famous singer Malaysia Vasudevan who has already sang over 600 songs.

He was born in Chennai on 20 December 1976 as the son of veteran singer, Malaysia Vasudevan. Among his two sisters, Prashanthini has already debut Tamil film industry as a playback singer. He married popular radio jockey, Hayma Malini in 1999 and the couple has three kids. He has been a mridungam player and his first stage performance happened at the age of 10. Later he accompanied his father in many stage shows India and abroad. Till 14, he used to sing the female portion of the duets alongside his father in stage performances. Later he started conducting his own stage shows. Then he made his successful film debut as a singer and where he rendered most songs for Bharadwaj.

As a music director, his most recent projects are Kathalaanain and Nellai Santhippu. ‘Poovellam Un Vasam‘ was his debut movie as a film actor. In this movie, he played the notable role of Karna, the villain of the movie who cooks wrong stories to break the relationship of Ajith and Jyothika. This movie was a hit and his role was well-noticed. After that he regularly appears in Tamil movies in supporting roles. He has also acted in a few television serials like Megala and Idhayam and has also hosted a few musical shows.
