Vijay Raghavendra Biography

Vijay Raghavendra is a Kannada actor who started working in movies since childhood as a child artist. In 1994 he received National Film Award for Best Child Artist for the movie, Kotreshi Kanasu. Chinnari Mutha (1993) is another noted role as a child performer. As a hero, his debut movie was Ninagaagi, released in 2002. In 2013, he won the first season of Kannada version of game show Bigg Boss, where he received Rs. 50 lakh as prize money. He married Spandana in 2007 and has a son named Shourya. Raghavendra is the son of the famous producer of Kannada cinema, S. A. Chinne Gowda and also a close relative of top Kannada actor, Rajkumar. Shivarajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar are his cousins. Actor Sri Murali is his brother.

Vijay was born in Bangalore on May 26, 1979. His acting career started in the year 1982 with the movie, Chalisuva Modagalu. He worked aside his uncle Rajkumar and actress Ambika in this movie. His next release was Chinnari Mutha. The movie was a huge hit and Vijay became a household name. Then he appeared in numerous roles during 1980’s and 1990’s as a child artist and the movie, Kotreshi Kanasu earned him national award for best child actor in the year 1994.

In 2002, he was successfully launched aside another debutant Radhika with the movie, Ninagaagi, a box office blockbuster. But his next two releases the same year - Prema Khaidi and Romeo Juliet were commercial failures. Since then his commercial hit movies are Kallarali Hoovagi, Rishi, Khushi and Kaaranji. His latest released movies are Chella Pilli, Snehitaru, Vinayaka Geleyara Balaga, Kalla Malla Sulla and Shravana. Ondu Roopayalli Eradu Preethi and Vighna are his upcoming projects.
