Shivrajkumar Biography

Shivrajkumar is an Indian film actor, producer, playback singer, philanthropist and television presenter of Kannada film industry. He is the elder son of great actor of Kannada, Rajkumar. His younger brother, Raghavendra Rajkumar is a film producer and a film actor. His youngest brother, Puneeth Rajkumar is also a leading Kannada film actor. He is married to the daughter of former chief minister of Karnataka, S. Bangarappa, Geeta and the couple has two daughters. Om, Janumada Jodi, Anand, Rathasapthami, Nammoora Mandara Hoove, Jogi and Chigurida Kanasu are his top hits.

His real name is Shivu Putta Swamy and was born in the year 1962. He graduated from Madras University in 1983 with Chemistry as main subject. Then he joined an acting school in Chennai. He had already learnt Kuchipudi dance at Vempetti Chinni Sathyam while at college. He debut silver screen in the year 1986 with the jubilee hit, Anand. Ha has already completed 25 years in the industry and has done variety of roles offered. He also acted in Sugreeva, which was shot in 18 hours. His movie Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu was shot in the locations of Seven Wonders of the World. His 100th movie Jogayya is the sequel to his blockbuster Jogi.

Shivaraj Kumar has won four Filmfare and four state awards in the best actor category. Om (1995), Hrudhaya Hrudhaya (1999), Chigurida Kanasu (2003) and Jogi (2004) are the movies for which he won state awards. ’Sandalwood King’, 'Hatrick Hero', 'Century Star' and ‘Shivanna’ are his popular titles given by media and his fans. In 2012, he receivedSIIMA Award for Social Responsibility. Same year, he received South Indian International movie award for the movie, Shiva. He won Filmfare awards for the movies, Om (1995), Nammoora Mandara Hoove (1996), A.K.47 (1999) and Thamassu (2010).
