Ambika Biography 
Ambika is an Indian actress who was very famous in 1980s. She started her career as a supporting artist in the year 1979 through the Malayalam film Mamangam. She had performed in more than 200 films of various languages.
Ambika was born on 6th November 1963 in Kallara in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. Her father’s name is Azhakathu E. Rama Kurup and her mother’s name is Mouttathu K Janaki. Her sisters are actress Radha and Mallika and her brother are Arjun and Suresh Nair, the film director. She completed her schooling at Kerala. She married Shinu John and has two daughters Kalaranjini and Chithra. Then she divorced him and married Ravikanth.
Ambika was introduced into Tamil film industry through the film Andha 7 Naatka by K. Bhagyaraj. She has paired with many popular heroes such as Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan, Sivakumar, Vijaykanth, Mammooty, Mohanlal, Sivaji Ganesan, Prem Nazir, Rajkumar, Srinath, Ravichandra and Ambarish to quote a few. Some of her glamorous movies like Padikkadhavan, Vikram, Kaadhal Parisu and Kaakki Sattai made her the dream girl of those times.
She was able to withstand in the film industry with her versatility and talents and he demonstrated her prowess in acting with her sister in the film Kaadhal Parisu. She also performed in many television serials. She made her directorial debut through the film Anabella in Malayalam in 2011.
Her first marriage with an US based Indian made her live in US for few years. But that was a failure and so she divorced him and remarried. Later she entered the South Indian film industry again and is still continuing her second phase.
Ambika was a role model of young ladies of her time with her style and beauty. She performed and executed every character given to her with sheer brilliance. Some of her films with erotic scenes understated her. Her different way of combing her hair caught the attention of ladies of her times and many started to follow that which came to be called as Ambika style.
