T. V. Anupama Biography 
TV Anupama is a very popular IAS officer from Kerala. She is indeed popular among the masses for the bold steps she took against politicians and other influential people of the society, and known for her tireless services as an administrator during 2018 Kerala floods. From food adulteration mafia to illegal encroachers of government land, Anupama has given them all sleepless nights. When this young administrative officer took charge as the District Collector of Alappuzha district in August 2017, she set off a political storm in the state within weeks of her appointment. Her report against Kerala transport minister Thomas chandy, in violation of the Kerala Paddy and Wetland Act created a lot of stir in the media field. Currently she serves as the District Collector in-charge of Thrissur since 2018.
She hails from Ponnani in Malappuram district, Kerala. She had always nurtured a dream of becoming an IAS officer, right from childhood. Her father and uncle had written preliminary exams in civil service, and slowly their unfulfilled dreams passed over to her. She lost her father at a young age. Yet her mother who worked in Giruvayir Devaswom board encouraged her to write civil service exams. She later studied at BITS Pilani in Goa – one of India’s premier engineering institutions. Even while doing the course, she dreamt about IAS.
TV Anupama secured the All India Rank 4 in the UPSC examinations in 2010, and remained in limelight too. She said in interviews that she was almost sure she would have written the exams again and again till she achieves the goal. She spent 11 months preparing for civil service exams, with working 13 to 16 hours a day with her books and journals, and never slept for more than six hours.
She became a household name in Kerala after getting into loggerheads with the political lobby in the sensational river encroachment case during her district collector tenure in Alappuzha. Currently the district collector of Thrissur, her senior secondary education was completed from St Claire’s Convent Higher Secondary School of same district.
