Suriya Biography

Suriya is an Indian film Actor. His original name is Saravanan. He was born on 23rd July, 1975 in Coimbatore. He did his schooling in Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan School in Coimbatore and St. Bede’s School in Chennai. He completed his degree in Loyola College in Chennai.

 

His father named Sivakumar is also a famous actor. His mother Lakshmi is a House wife. His siblings are Brindha Sivakumar and Karthi. Karthi is also an actor at present in the cinema industry. Suriya fell in love with the famous actress named Jyothika who was the sister of actress Nagma. They have a daughter, Diya and son, Dev.

 

Surya gave many hit films in the Tamil Cinema. Some of them are Nandha, Ghajini, Pithamagan, Ayutha Ezhuthu, Kakka Kakka, and Perazhagan.  He got the Filmfare Best actor Award in the year 2003, 2004 and Kalaimamani Award in 2005 and three Tamilnadu State Awards. His talent raised his rank as a leading star in the Tamil cinema. In the year 2008, he started Agaram Foundation to help the childhood orphans. He also established in Bollywood by the film Rakut Charita in 2010 which was directed by Ram Gopal Varma.

Surya entered into the film industry in 1997 by the film, Nerrukku Ner which was directed by Vasanth and Mani Rathnam was the Producer of this film. In 2001, he made the comedy film named Friends. Suriya started to rock by the film Nanda and he won Tamil Nadu State Award for Best Actor for this film. He did the film Kaakka Kaakka in 2003 and was rated in top hit list.

 

He won Film Fare Best Supporting Actor Award for the film Pithamagan in Bala’s direction. He did the double action film named Perazhagan and also awarded Filmfare Award for best Actor for that. In Gautham Menon’s direction, Suriya did Vaaranam Aayiram in 2006. He also won Vijay Award for Best Actor in 2008, and Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor.

 

In K. V. Anand direction, Ayan got the Vijay Award for Best Entertainer of the year. K. S. Ravikumar’s Aadhavan was a big hit and his Silver jubilee film, Singam with Hari’s direction was also a great Success. He made guest role in Man Madhan Ambu.  He acted in many advertisements too. He did many different roles and won many awards in the Tamil Cinema and now he is a leading artist in the film industry.
