K. S. Ravikumar Biography 
K. S. Ravikumar is an Indian film director working in Tamil cinema industry. He had directed many comedy, drama and action thrillers. He was born on 30th May 1954 in Madras and started his career as an assistant director to Bharathi Raja. The first film he directed was Puriyaatha Pudhir in 1990.
He has worked with many leading actors of the South Indian film industry such as Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Vijay, Surya, Ajith, Silambarasan, Sarath Kumar, Arjun, Prabhu, Vijayakanth, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi and Madhavan. When his film Dasavathaaram earned $16 million in the first four weeks, his salary was raised to $1million.
He studied at Digital Film Technology and got his graduation in 1985. He worked with Bharathi Raja as an assistant director from 1985 to 1990. He worked with the film director Vikraman for the film Pudhu Vasantham.
After his first film Puriyaatha Pudhir he directed his first hit Cheran Pandiyan in 1990. This was the first film of actor Sarath Kumar in lead role. He directed many films with his friend Sarath Kumar such as Nattamai in 1994 and Natpukkaga in 1998. Both of them were biggest blockbusters. Also his film with Rajnikanth, Muthu and his film with Kamal Hassan, Thenali were biggest commercial success. This got him many offers to direct films of other popular heroes of the South Indian film industry. He does the cameo appearance in each of his films.
Some of his movies have been accused of plagiarizing the various other movies. For example his movie with Kamal Hassan, Avvai Shanmugi was said to have similar plot like Tootsie and Mrs.Doubtfire. Thenali is said to be like Bob and Panchathanthiram is said to have plot similar to Very Bad Things.
