Sugandha Garg Biography

Sugandha Garg is a Bollywood actress who appears in supporting roles. She is a television host too. The breakthrough movie of her career was the blockbuster hit, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na in which she played the role of Shaleen, one among the friends of the lead pair, Imran Khan and Genelia D'Souza. Her role as vibrant and bubbly Shaleen was an instant hit. She appeared as a student reporter in My Name is Khan. She appeared in supporting roles in movies like Let's Dance, Tere bin Ladein and Mumbai Calling. She played the role of the makeup artist who makeups the innocent fellow to Bin Ladein in the classic comedy, Tere bin Ladein. She is married to television host, Raghu Ram, known for the association with MTV. Rajiv Laxman, a presenter of the popular show MTV Roadies is her brother-in-law.

Though she appears in supporting roles, her characters have always been noticed and played the pivot roles in the movie as well. Apart from movies, she hosts television shows and also works as a stage actress. Her popular shows include – ‘What’s with Indian men’ and ‘It happens only in India’ on Fox Traveller. ‘I Have Gone Marking’ and ‘Sometimes’ are her noted theater works. She performed the Assamese song "Tokari" with Papon in Coke Studio for MTV.

Her real dream was to become a mountaineer and conquer Mount Everest. Now also she dreams that she will make it someday. Renuka, one of the supporting artists of Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na introduced her to the director of the movie, Abbas Tyrewala and she was selected. Tere Bin Laden 2 and Ceylon are her upcoming projects.
