Sowmya Raoh Biography 
Sowmya Raoh is a successful playback singer of Bollywood and south Indian movies. Sowmya made her singing debut in 1993 at the age of 7. Her Bollywood debut happened 7 years later in 2000. Her mother B. K. Sumitra is also a playback singer, who sings devotional and folk songs also. She has recorded more than 200 songs with veteran music directors like A R Rahman and Ilaiyaraaja. Jungle, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Company, Dum, Khosla Ka Ghosla and Bunty Aur Babli are her noted Bollywood works.
She was born in Bangalore. Her father was an employee of Reserve Bank of India. Her mother B. K. Sumitra is a noted singer. She used to accompany her mother to studios for music recording. Thus she started dreaming to become a playback singer. However her father was against her wish to become a singer. Though she started music at the age of 7, she gave it a temporary break to concentrate to studies, as she felt that music may affect her studies. Again she got attracted to music and studied Carnatic music. However she could only become a voice actor, which was not what she dreamt about. She dreamt to sing for heroines and not kids. Later she got opportunity to sing for many leading ladies of the glamour world like Rani Mukherji, Diya Mirza, Aishwarya Rai etc.
Her break to playback singing was given by Sandeep Chowta through Telugu movies. He also gave her big break to Bollywood. "Greekuveerudu" in the Telugu film Ninne Pelladata was her first major break. It was only in 2002 she completely decided to foray in Bollywood. Earlier she had made her singing debut in Bollywood through "Soul of Jungle" of Pyar tune kya kiya and romantic track "Ankhon Mein raho” of Company, which was a chartbuster.
