Sandeep Chowta Biography 
Sandeep Chowta is a successful music director and background scorer of Indian films most popular for Ram Gopal Varma movies like Mast, Pyar tune kya kiya and Jungle, with Urmila Matongkar as leading actress. Before joining Ram Gopal Varma’s camp, he has given music to Bhai, Insaaf and Dus – A movie that was never released. Yet it was through Aftab-Urmila starrer Mast of 1998 through which he came to limelight. The movie directed by Ram Gopal Varma was moderate successful at box office too. All the songs of the movie – especially Tere siva, Aasman kehta hai rab se and Ruki Ruki se zindagi were huge hits as well. He proved his talent as a good singer by singing its title track of male voice for Aftab Shivdasani.
Not only that, Sunidhi Chauhan’s first major success as a Bollywood singer was Mast, followed by Jungle – both belongs to Sandeep Chowta. Thus Chowta became instrumental in grooming the career of Sunidhi, who had just won Doordarshan’s singing hunt show ‘Meri awaaz suno’. All songs of Jungle – Aiyyo aiyyo rama, Do pyar karne waale, Jaan kaha hai kaha and Pehli baar mila to are still very popular. Obviously these songs were the earliest hits of Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan as successful playback singers.
Sandeep Chowta was born in Ghana grew up in Nigeria and later Bangalore. He is the eldest son of D. K. Chowta, an author and businessman. Now he is also the head of Columbia Records in India. Sandeep Chowta started his career through Telugu movie - Ninne Pelladutha with Nagarjuna and Tabu as leading stars. After that he has given music for 10 Telugu films of which Nagarjuna is associated with 5 films and the rest with Mohan babu. A few of his hit Telugu movies are Kedi, Bujjigadu, Josh and Saleem.
He debut with Sanam in Bollywood in 1996. But his work was not noticed. After a couple of movies, Dus and Insaaf, he got opportunity to do background score of Satya. Thus began the successful association of Ram Gopal Varma and Sandeep Chowta that resulted in many hits. As a background scorer, his movies include Satya, Vastav, Kaun, Asoka, Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, Not a Love Story, Houseful, Om shanty om and Shool. He has always collaborated western instruments in his music score that has become successful always. As a music director, other hits include – Dum, Boom, Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, Hollywood Bollywood and Sandwich.
