Lydian Nadhaswaram was born in Chennai on September 06, 2005. Music is in his blood. He was born as the son of musician Varshan Sathish and his wife Jhansi. He began performing on the drums when he was two years old. A self-taught musician, at the age of 8 he started playing piano and within a few months he started playing the tunes of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt, without achieving any formal learning. At the age of 12, he plays 14 different music instruments including folk instruments - kanjira and the thappatai. But piano is his personal favourite. An undisputed king of the piano, he plays western drums, tabla and mridangam. Later he received guidance from Augustine Paul, Surojeet Chatterji etc.

In 2019 he participated in international show, World’s Best and emerged as the winner. Though Lydian was making the news right from the start of the show, he was not everyone’s favourite to win the show. A video surfaced where the youngster played two pianos at the same time and it went viral. He also appeared in Ellen’s show where he played the piano blindfolded.
