Sharwanand Biography

Sharwanand is a south Indian film actor from Hyderabad. He is known as Sarva in the Tamil cinema. He is known for portraying the lead role in Telugu movie, Satya 2. He entered film industry in the early 2000’s doing supporting roles. Later he became a lead actor. Before entering cinema field, he was a model.

Nandu is his pet name. His cousin Ram Pothineni is a youth icon of Telugu film industry now. His father MRV Prasad Rao is a business man. He is the youngest of 3 children. Since childhood he dreamt to become an actor. He went to Mumbai to study acting course when he was 17. He is a graduate of commerce from Wesley and also took formal lessons in dancing. While doing graduation he was selected as one of the models of The Hindu’s Best New Face contest. Later he appeared in several television ads.

He was noticed by Telugu actor, Chiranjeevi in a coke ad and thus he got opportunity to do supporting roles in movies. 5va Tareeku in 2003 marked his screen debut. He shared screen space with Chiranjeevi in Shankar Dada M.B.B.S. and Venkatesh in Sankranthi and Lakshmi. Characters of Vennela and Amma Cheppindi brought him to limelight and later he appeared in critically well acclaimed movies like Gamyam, Andari Banduvaya and Prasthanam.

He entered Tamil film industry with the remake of his Telugu hit, Gamyam where he played supporting role aside Ravi krishna and Kamalinee Mukherjee. The movie was titled Kadhalna Summa Illai. But the movie bombed at box office. His second Tamil film Naalai Namadhe directed by Vinayan was also a box office failure. But the success of Engaeyum Eppothum gained him popularity and earned him SIIMA awards for best debut actor.
