Kamalinee Mukherjee Biography

Kamalinee Mukherjee is an Indian film actress who concentrates in Telugu film industry. She has also performed in films of many other languages such as Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada and Hindi.

 

She was born on 4th March 1980 in Kolkata in West Bengal. Her father is a marine engineer and her mother is a jewelry designer. She is the eldest daughter and has two younger siblings. She completed her graduation in English literature from Loreto College in Kolkata and then joined the hotel management course in New Delhi. But she could not complete it as she was very much interested in acting.

 

From her childhood days she had a flair for acting and loved to be on the stage taking part in many plays. She is also interested in reading, painting and writing poetry. She started her career in acting in the year 2004 and since then has acted in more than 20 films.

 

Having interest in writing poems, she has contributed to an online website by writing three poems among which one of them was selected for International Poetry Contest. For that she was invited to Washington for attending a seminar that was presided by Dalai Lama. Not only that she is a poet but also she is a good dancer having formal training in Bharatnatyam.

 

She joined an institution in Mumbai where she pursued a degree in theatre arts. During that time, she got chances in modeling and appeared in many commercials including Neelkamal Furniture, Parachute, Fair and Lovely and Ayush.

 

She was picked by the actor cum director Revathi after seeing her in an advertisement who gave her a role in the film Phir Milenge. This film about AIDS gave her a start in her film career. Her parents were very supportive in her acting career. Then she got a chance to perform in a Telugu film named Anand. But since she is a Bengali, she did not know Telugu and the singer Sunita lent her voice. This film won 8 Nandi Awards of 2004 and she won the Best Leading Actress award.

 

Some of the films that she has acted include Phir Milenge, Anand, Meenakshi, Style, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, Godavari, Classmates, Pellaindi Kaani, Happy Days, Gamyam, Jalsa, Brahmanandam Drama Company, Kadhalna Summa Illai, Gopi Gopika Godavari, Police Police, Kutty Shranku, Nagavalli, Aparajita Tumi, Shirdi Sai, etc.
