Shari Biography

Shari is a Malayalam film actress who has been most active in the industry during 1980’s and early 1990’s. She received Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress in the year 1986 for critically praised movie - Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal. The movie directed by Padmarajan is regarded as a classic in terms of its powerful theme and screenplay. This movie marked her successful debut on big screen and she played the role of Sophia, opposite Solomon, played by Mohanlal. Thilakan played a prominent role as villain in this movie.

Her second movie, Desatanakkili Karayarilla just followed the magic created by her debut movie and Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare, Oru Maymasa Pulariyil, Kalikkalam, Season, Aankiliyude Tharattu, Nombarathi Poovu and Jathakam are other noted works. Now she is active in the industry doing supporting roles. Padmasree Bharat Dr. Saroj Kumar, Rebecca Uthup Kizhakkemala, Orissa, Prakasham Parathunna Penkutti, Abhiyum Njanum, Bombay March 12, Kadhayile Nayika, Mummy and Me, Maad dad and Doctor Love are a few among them. She has also appeared in a few Tamil movies like Pudhiya Geethai, Oru ponnu oru paiyan, Vetri Karangal and Pathimoonam Number Veedu.

Among heroes, she has been most successfully paired with Mohanlal. She has worked with Mohanlal in her first two movies - Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal and Desatanakkili Karayarilla, followed by Season. She played the role of a teacher in Malayalam classic - Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu, opposite Srinivasan. She played the role of Jayaram’s wife in ‘Jathakam’, who is killed by her father-in-law, character played by Thilakan. Shari, originally belongs to Andhra Pradesh, though got settled with Malayalam movies.
