Sarah Jane Dias Biography

Sarah Jane Dias was the winner of Femina Miss India 2007. She is a video jockey of Channel V and has acted in a few movies as well. She has worked in a few Tamil, Telugu and Hindi movies of which the hit movie – Kya super cool hai hum needs special mention. Her released movies till now are - Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pilla in Tamil, Panjaa in Telugu and Game and Kya super cool hain hum in Bollywood. Her fifth movie – O Teri (Hindi) is scheduled to release this year, 2013. In 1997, she has won Miss India Oman title at the age of 14.


Dias was born to a Roman Catholic family in Muscat on 3 December 1982. Her father, Eustace Dias, is a marketing manager and her mother, Yolanda, a house wife. Dias attended Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir until Grade 11 and then completed her schooling in Indian School Muscat. She completed her graduation and further studies at Mumbai's Mithibai College and St. Andrews College.


Dias’ entry to modeling was just co-incidental. Suresh Natrajan happened to note her at his set and immediately hired for the campaign he was shooting. She won a talent hunt show at the age of 21 and became a video jockey of Channel V. She became a popular VJ of the channel when she became the host of ‘Get Gorgeous’, a supermodel hunt TV show of the channel. She made her acting debut with the movie ‘Brides Wanted’ in 2006. But the movie was not released and then she was featured in the music video for Australian rock group INXS's "Never Let You Go" from their album Switch.

In 2007, she participated in Miss India contest and won the title too. However she was not able to make a significant impact in Miss World 2007 contest. Very soon she debut silver screen with Tamil comedy flick - Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai opposite Kollywood star Vishal Krishna. Her other movies are Game opposite Abhishek Bachchan, Kya super cool hain hum opposite Ritesh Deshmukh and Telugu movie, Panjaa opposite Tollywood star Pawan Kalyan.
