Abhishek Bachchan Biography

Abhishek Bachchan is an Indian film actor and a producer who has received many awards for his performance. He could be said as one of the highest paid stars of the Hindi film industry. He entered the film industry in the year 2000 through his debut movie Refugee. The film Dhoom released in the year 2004 gave him a break and became a very popular face.

 

Abhishek Bachchan was born on 5th February 1976 in Mumbai in Maharashtra and his birth name was Abhishek Amitabh Srivatsav. He belongs to a family of filmy background and his father Amitabh Bachchan is the renowned actor. His mother is actress Jaya Bachchan. He has one elder sister named Shweta Bachchan-Nanda. He married the actor and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai and has one daughter named Aaradhya Bachchan.

 

During his childhood days, he was affected by Dyslexia. He completed his schooling at Jamnabai Narsee Schol and Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai and Modern School at Vasant Vihar in New Delhi. He pursued his higher studies from Aiglon College in Switzerland and then from Boston University.

 

He was engaged to Karisma Kapoor in October 2002 but this broke off in January 2003. He then fell in love with Aishwarya Rai who is elder to him by two years and married her on 20th April 2007. They got the exposure in the media as the supercouple and both appeared together on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2009.

 

His debut film Refugee was a moderate success. Then some of the films that he acted ended up as flops and were poorly received. However, his subsequent performances in Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon and Yuva proved him as a good actor. He paired with Aishwarya Rai in the film Kuch Naa Kaho and that was a huge success at box office.

 

The year 2005 was a lucky year for him with his four movies becoming the highest grossers namely Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar, Dus and Bluffmaster. He worked with his wife Aishwarya Rai and his father Amitabh Bachchan in the film Sarkar Raj. He worked for the hip hop album Side B in 2011. In the year 2005, he took part in the stage show of Mani Ratnam, Netru Indru Naalai.

 

He looks after the film production company of his father ABCL and renamed it as AB Corp. Ltd. This company together with Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. formed the Unforgettable production. He promoted the awareness of drug abuse and launched the awareness day race that celebrated the silver jubilee of the Narcotics Control Bureau of the nation.
