Sandali Sinha Biography

Sandali Sinha is a beautiful model cum actress of Bollywood who worked during early 2000’s. She has appeared in a few music videos as well, of which Sonu Nigam’s Jaan is most popular. Among her movies, her debut movie ‘Tum Bin’ released in the year 2001 was a sleeper hit. This movie was the debut movie of music video director, Anubhav Sinha and a group of young actors as well. Both the movie and its songs composed by video music composers Nikhil-Vinay became huge hits. Actually, the tunes of their then yet to release Shah Rukh Khan movie, Yeh lamhe hain judai ke were used for this movie.

Sandali Sinha was born on 24^th January 1981 in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.  She comes from an Air Force background and her family has a lot of pilots and doctors. As a child she wanted to become a doctor. She lost her father at a younger age and it was her mother who raised her along with her two siblings. She completed her graduation from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi. Then she went to Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute to study acting. Incidentally she had a brief experience on an amateur fashion show and its success prompted to shift her dreams from doctor to a fashion model.

Her music video ‘Deewane hoke hum milne lage sanam’ shot along with Himanshu Malik, for Sonu Nigam’s Jaan was a huge hit. Jaan was the top album of year 2001, an extension of Sonu Nigam’s previous album, Deewana. Its video director was Anubhav Sinha, most popular for Sonu Nigam’s albums. When he debut as a Bollywood director, he casted the same pair for his movie ‘Tum bin’. The movie also starred Priyanshu Chatterjee in the leading role and this low budget movie with good music became a surprise hit at box office. In this movie, Sandali played the role of Piya, the fiancée of Amar Shah who meets with an accidental death in India. Her role was well appreciated. Yet she couldn’t make it big in Bollywood.

She has also worked in critically well acclaimed movie Pingar where Urmila and Manoj Vajpay played leading roles.  Priyanshu Chatterjee also played a significant role in this movie. Her other movies are Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, Nigehbaan: The Third Eye, Orey Pandu (Telugu), Main Ronee Aur Jony and Om.
