Sairam Shankar Biography

Sairam Shankar is a popular Telugu film actor. He is the younger brother of film maker, Puri Jagannadh. He started his career assisting his brother. 2004 film 143 marked his big screen debut. Danger, Neninthe and Bumper Offer are his noted Telugu movies. Dillunodu is his upcoming movie.

His full name is Sairam Shankar Petla and he was born in Kothapalli, Vishakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh. Currently he resides in Hyderabad. Shankar started his film career by assisting his brother Puri Jagannadh in an assistant director’s role. He has assisted his brother in Badri, Baachi, Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi and Shivamani. During this time, he came close with the entertainment industry and decided to mark debut as an actor. He did a bit role in the movie Idiot and later did an acting course at Satyanand Film Institute in Visakhapatnam before making his big screen debut in lead role for the movie 143, released in the year 2004. The movie was produced and directed by Puri Jagannadh where he was paired opposite Samiksha and Asha Saini. The film received mixed reviews and was heavily criticized for dubbing voice. So after a few days, his voice was dubbed again and the movie re-released. Then he assisted director Boyapati Srinu in 2005 film Bhadra.

Danger – released in 2005 was his next movie where he worked aside Allari Naresh, Swati Reddy, Sherin and Abhi. The movie bombed at box office. His third movie, Hello Premistara released in 2007 proved lucky to him and the movie was well received both by audience and critics. Sairam played dual roles in the film and he was paired opposite Sheela. Thus started the successful career of Sairam.
