Puri Jagannadh Biography 
Puri Jagannadh is an Indian film director and producer who concentrates in Telugu film industry. He was born on 28th September 1966 in Kothapalli in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. He started his career in film industry since 2000. He had received Nandi award for his direction two times.
His debut film as a director was in the year 2000 in Badri. Actors Pawan Kalyan, Renu Desai and Amisha Patel acted in this film and this was a great box office hit and this ran for more than 100 days. This gave him good name and fame and gave him more opportunities.
He started his own production company, Vaishno Academy in 2002. The first production through this company was Idiot. Other hits were Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Pokiri and Shivamani 9848022338. In the film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi the young boy Chandu meets his father who left his mother when he was young. The role of the father was played by Prakash Raj.
He earned the Nandi Award for his film Pokiri and this also got him Filmfare Award for Best Director in 2006. Mahesh Babu, Ileana D’ Cruz and Prakash Raj acted in that film. This film was remade in Tamil also in the same name and in Hindi as Wanted. This film crossed 500 days which was the highest in the history of Telugu film industry.
He also directed a Hindi film Shart in 2004. But this was a failure. The Kannada films that he directed include Appu and Yuvaruvaraja. He directed the film Chirutha the debut film of the son of Megastar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan Teja. His film Neninthe gave successful openings and was an average grosser.
Some of the films that he had directed include Appu, Shivamani, Shart: The Challenge, Super, Desamuduru, Bujjigadu, Ek Niranjan, Golimaar, Nenu Naa Rakshasi, etc. He has also written screen plays for the films like Desamuduru, Pokkiri, Chiruta, Bujjigadu, Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, Badri, etc.
