Radhika Biography

Radhika is a film actress who concentrates most on Malayalam cinema. She is known most for the role played in the movie ‘Classmates’, all time blockbuster hit of Malayalam cinema released in the year 2006. Her character name was Razia and she accumulated many awards and critical appreciation for this role. She has appeared in many hit movies like Twenty 20, Mission 90 Days, Nasrani, One Man Show and Thaskara Veeran, though in supporting roles. She played a significant role in super hit movie, In Ghost House Inn (sequel of In Harihar Nagar) released in the year 2010. Kudumbasree Travels, Minnaminni koottam and Kadhayile Nayika are other noted works.

Radhika appeared in movies as a child artist during early 90’s. She was seen as Niece of Mohanlal in 1992 super hit movie – Vietnam Colony. Kanaka, K P A C Lalitha and Innocent were the other stars of this comic action movie. After a break, she appeared in a bit role in Darling Darling released in the year 2000. Dileep and Kavya Madhavan were the leading stars of this love triangle and the movie was directed by Rajasenan. She appeared in teenager roles in Sharja To Sharja (2001), One Man Show (2001) and War and Love (2005) movies. She appeared in critically acclaimed movie Daivanamathil (2005) and Taskara veeran the same year also. Yet none of these roles were significant. She starved to get good roles in movie.

In 2006, Classmates was released. This movie is regarded as the top campus movie of Malayalam released till now. Though she played the supporting role in this movie, she emerged to be the real star of the movie in the climax. The whole script revolved around the unfolded love story between Naran and Radhika and critics praised this actress for the lively screen presence as Razia. She received Best Supporting Actress in Amrita Films Awards 2006. Other memorable roles of Radhika are Cobra, Minnaminnikoottam, One Way Ticket and Annum Innum Ennum.
