Rajasenan Biography

Rajasenan is a very popular director of Malayalam who directs Jayaram movies. All the major hits of Jayaram were directed by Raja Senan and he always chooses a fresh heroine for Jayaram’s next movie. All his major hits starred Jayaram in the leading role too. Ayalathe Adheham (1992) with Gauthami, Meleparambil Aanveedu (1993) with Shobhana, Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava (1995) with Kasthuri, CID Unnikrishnan B.A., B.Ed. (1994) with Chippi, Kadhanayakan (1997) with Divya Unni, Swapna Lokathe Balabhaskaran with Annie (1996), Kottaram veettile Appoottan (1998) with Shruthi, Jnangal santhushtaraanu (1999) with Abhirami, Aadyathe Kanmani (1995) with Sudharani and Nadan Pennum Natupramaniyum with Samyukta Varma (2000) are a few instances. Common factor in all these movies is Comedy. All these movies are regarded as the top comedy movies of Jayaram all time. Most recently Rajasenan debut as hero with the movie - Bharya Onnu Makkal Moonnu in 2009. In 2010, he worked in two movies, Nalla paattukaara and Oru small family.

He has also written the scripts of Immini nalloral, Swapna Lokathe Balabhaskaran, Aadyathe Kanmani and Madhu chandralekha. He is one among the most successful directors of Malayalam who can be tagged as ‘Showman of Mollywood’. Among a series of movies he has directed, he had to drink the ripeness of a few flops only. He is the man with golden touch who knows the sense of Malayalam audience and delivers movies according to their expectation. His major hits are Meleparambil Aanveedu, Aadyathe kamnani, madhu Chandra lekha, Kottaram veettile Appoottan, Dilliwala Rajakumaran, Kadinjool Kalyanam, Kani kaanum neram, Onnu randu moonu, Jnangal santhushtaraanu, Vardhakya puranam, Kathanayakan, Sreekrishnapurathe Nakshathrathilakkam, Swapna Lokathe Balabhaskaran. Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava, Ayalathe adheham, Nadan Pennum Natupramaniyum and CID Unnikrishnan B.A., B.Ed. However his movie ‘The car’ with Jayaram couldn’t do reasonably well at the box office. It gained curiosity among the people when the car used for its shooting met with an accident resulting in the death of a few people soon before the release of the movie. His movies like Darling darling and Malayali Mamanu Vanakkam (starring Jayaram and Prabhu) were also moderate successes.   

After 2002, due to some personal conflicts the success pair of Rajasenan and Jayaram got separated and they came together again with Madhu Chandralekha. It was for the first time a heroine already paired with Jayaram in a Rajasenan movie has been casted again. With Urvasy, they have done the classic comedy of all times – Kadinjool Kalyanam, which helped both these actors to establish as the top pair of Malayalam.
