Pramila Nesargi Biography 
Pramila Nesargi is a women's rights activist, lawyer, politician and educationalist. She is a prominent lawyer of present times, and has handled many high profile and controversial cases. She also serves as the Director or board member of several leading companies. She is the first woman to be elected to the Karnataka Bar Council as Chairman of Bar Association in the past 50 years. Pramila was the first lady to qualify M.L. (jurisprudence). She also had a stint in politics since late 1970s, and has served as a member of Karnataka State legislative assembly twice.
Pramila Nesargi was born on 25 March in the year 1938 in Mysore, Karnataka. She is currently settled in Bangalore. Her mother was a freedom fighter. Pramila was the first person from her family who went to the college. She graduated in science in 1958, followed by LLB in 1960 and a graduate degree in law in 1963. Pramila was the first lady to qualify M.L. (jurisprudence), and she started her practice while doing M. L.
At a young age, she earned name as a prominent lawyer, and has been associated with many sensational cases. She also gained recognition as a women's rights activist, who fought many cases belonging to this genre. She has been involved with many political cases as well, where she fought against ministers and leading politicians of the country. She joined politics in 1978 and was first elected Lady Senate member (MLA) of Karnataka Legislative assembly from Janata party. She served a complete 5-year term till 1983. In 1991 she unsuccessfully contested Lok Sabha elections from North Bangalore. The same year she won state assembly elections.
