Kimi Katkar Biography 
Kimi Katkar is better known for the popular as well as controversial song, Jumma Chumma de de. She was the lead heroine opposite Amitabh Bachchan in 1991 blockbuster movie – Hum. She was a model and actress during the second half of 1980’s and early 1990’s. Apart from Hum, she is also known for the role of Ruby Shetty in B grade movie - The Adventures of Tarzan released in 1985. Soon after the release of Hum in 1991, she stopped signing more projects and got married to commercial photographer and advertising film producer, Shantanu Sheorey. Hamla was her last released movie, released in 1992 one year later the successful movie - Hum. Now she is set for a comeback with Mira Nair movie, similar to other top heroines of 1980’s and 1990’s.
Kimi was born on 11 December 1965 in Mumbai. She debut film industry in the year 1985 with the movie, Patthar Dil as a supporting actress. However it was her bold appearance in the next movie – Tarzan opposite Hemant Birje which gave her big break to Bollywood. But later on, she was type casted with similar kind of girl friend roles. She appeared in numerous movies in glamour roles during late 1980’s. Vardi, Mard Ki Zubaan, Mera Lahoo, Dariya Dil, Gair Kanooni, Jaisi Karni Vaisi Bharni, Sherdil and Zulm Ki Hukumat are a few of her noted roles. Apart from The Adventures of Tarzan and Hum, her noted movie was Zalzala, released in the year 1988.
She has done same type of roles in almost all films, with daily routine of dance numbers. She has done a few movies with dancing star, Govinda. After the super success of Hum, though she received lead role opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Yash Chopra’s Parampara, she didn’t accept it. Rather she settled with her family life.
