Vishwanath Bobade Biography 
Vishwanath Bobade is an agriculturist and a farmer in Bahirwadi, Beed district of Maharashtra who earns lakhs of money from his 1 acre land in the drought affected area. He has already earned 7 lakh rupees from farming on a square piece of land with size 1 acre only. He studied till class 5 only. Yet his successful story is truly inspiring.
Vishwanath Bobade was born into a poor family of farmers in Bahirwadi, Beed district of Maharashtra. He studied till class 5 only and later took to traditional farming. He along with his brother grew lentil and pearl millet in their ancestral farm. Initially they had 10 acres of land. Following their father’s death, they sold 6 acres of their land to build a house of their own. To meet with expenses and loans, the siblings worked in other farms. In 1992, when government took 2 acres of land for building roads and other purposes, what left was just 2 acres of land. The brothers divided the property into two shares, and thus Vishwanath was left with 1 acre land.
Initially he took to traditional farming, but faced huge losses because of drought, and his condition went from bad to worse. He decided to re-examine his farming methods and make suitable changes. His experiments slowly gained him profits. He took to the idea of multi-cropping and decided to grow different crops in his 1-acre land. He also built a wire fence and planted creepers and climbers. He grew vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage and okra, and earned 3 lakhs as return. Water scarcity was still an issue.
Using the first year profit, he built a well near the Bindusara River that flows through his village. He then installed a pipeline and sprinklers were used to water the farm.it kept his farm moist year throughout. He planted crops as per season and used technologies like Raised-Bed Farming and Mulching.
