Victor Menezes Biography 
Victor Menezes is an engineer and banker, who is the former chairman and CEO of Citibank. He is married to former model cum Miss Asia Pacific 1973 title holder - Tara Anne Fonseca from Bangalore. He is the son of Manuel Menezes, a business executive who served as the chairman of the Indian Railway Board. His younger brother Ivan Menezes is the CEO of Diageo, a FTSE 100 British multinational alcoholic and world’s largest beverages company. Victor has headed Citigroup’s Emerging Markets business. Graduated from IIT, Mumbai, he has a convention centre at the institute named after him as the Victor Menezes Convention Centre (VMCC).
He was born in Pune, India on 14 May 1949 to business executive Manuel Menezes. After completing electrical engineering from IIT, Mumbai in 1970, he took Master’s in Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 1972. Following his Master’s, he started his professional career with Citibank. He had a long-term glorious association of 32 years with Citibank till his retirement as Senior Vice Chairman of the bank in 2005. He reached Chief Financial Officer post in 1995. Currently he heads the Advisory Board position of the bank.
A convention centre with his name – VMCC was inaugurated Kapil Sibal on 8 January 2011 at IIT campus, Mumbai. Victor is the co-chairman of the IITBHF. He also donated $3 million to IIT Bombay Heritage Fund on the eve of its golden jubilee celebrations. Though retired from corporate sector, he is associated with many organizations. He has served as the Chairman of the Clearing House Association, and currently holds the position of Chairman of American India Foundation, Vice Chairman of the Asia Society, Chairman of Vice Chairman of the Asia Society and many more.
