V. G. Siddhartha Biography 
V. G. Siddhartha is a businessman and entrepreneur who founded Cafe Coffee Day outlets. He also owns Coffee Day Resorts Private Limited. He founded Global Technology Ventures in 2000 and serves as its Managing Partner and Director. He also has experiences in investment banking and stock broking. He is married to the daughter of famous politician, S. M. Krishna.
After obtaining a Masters in Economics degree from Mangalore University, he joined J M Financial Services as a management trainee and intern in trading on the Indian Stock Market. He gathered two year experience in stock market and finance and returned back to hometown. He was offered a good sum by his father to start some business and he bought Sivan Securities Ltd., in 1984. He introduced equity research division and later this organization turned out to be a highly successful investment banking and stock broking company.
Then he decided to diversify his main sectors. He consolidated family holding of 400 acres of coffee plantations to 10000 acres and founded Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company in 1992. He grows coffee in Chikmagalur, Karnataka and is a pioneer in coffee export right now. The idea of Cafe Coffee Day outlet rose in his mind around mid-1990s. As south India homes less intake coffee, experts warned him not to enter this venture. Yet he targeted on youngsters and evening parties and also to provide them cakes, music videos and checking mail facilities. The first Cafe Coffee Day outlet was set up on July 11, 1996, at Bangalore. Its tagline ‘A lot can happen over a cup of coffee’ clicked and now this chain has more than 1500 outlets in 135 cities across India as well as a few outlets abroad.
