Sarayu Biography

Sarayu is a Malayalam film actress who debut big screen as a heroine with 2009 movie, Kappal Muthalaali. Though the movie was a flop, she was noticed with the debut movie. She also appeared in music videos - Sooryakanthi and Kungumam. She played the negative shaded role in ‘4 Friends’. She played the role of Kunchacko Boban’s girlfriend, who betrays him soon after she knows that he is a cancer patient.  

She was born in Thrippunithura, Ernakulam on July 19, 1990. She was born to Mohan & Uma as a single girl child to her parents. She is a trained classical dancer. Her schooling was done at GV HSS Ernakulam and she completed her graduation on BA Literature at Maharajas College, Ernakulam. Now she is doing her post graduate degree in Literature from Annamalai University.

Sarayu started her career by doing minor roles in movies like Chakkara Muthu (2006), Sultan (2008) and Veruthe Oru Bharya (2008). She was casted as lead heroine in comedy thriller, Kappal Muthalali in 2009. She worked aside Ramesh Pisharody, Mukesh and Jagadish, in the movie directed by Thaha. Same year she joined Tamil film industry with the movie, Kadhalukk Maranamillai, where she was casted aside Theja, Meera Nandan, Madalasa, Suhasini and Ganja Karuppu. In 2010, she played lead role of Gauri in Malayalam flick, Chekavar. The movie was directed by Sajeevann.

It was followed by a series of movies – Nizhal, Inganeyum Oral, 4 Friends, Husbands in Goa, Kanyakumari Express, Sahasram, Karayilekku Oru Kadal Dooram, Nayika, Nadakame Ulakam, Nidra, Houseful, Bhoomiyude Avakashikal, Radio and Janapriyan. She has also appeared in song sequences of Orkut Oru Ormakoot and Padmasree Bharat Dr. Saroj Kumar.
