Meera Nandan Biography

Meera Nandan is a young actress of South India. She debuted through Malayalam movie, ‘Mulla’ opposite Dileep and has acted in all South Indian languages as leading actress.

She started her career as an anchor in Idea Star Singer of Asianet television and its success opened door to Mollywood. She debuted in Lal Jose movie ‘Mulla’ in the year 2008 and her role as an innocent village girl was well noted. A lullaby pictured on her was quite popular that time. Very soon she was seen in a couple of Malayalam movies like Currency and Puthiya Mugham. For the movie, Puthiya Mugham opposite Pritviraj Sukumaran, she won AMMA award for best supporting actress. The hit of Puthiya Mukham opened doors to other south Indian languages including Tamil and Telugu. Valmiki – a Tamil movie was first one such.

She acted in the leading role as the heroine of critically well acclaimed movie – Patham nilayile theevandi. Then she began to give equal preference to Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu movies. Movies during this phase include Pullimaan, opposite Kalabhavan Mani, Kerala café, Ayyanar, Oridathoru postman, Kathalikku maramillai and Jai bolo Telungana. In most movies, she was casted as a village girl as her simple looks echoed those innocent characteristics perfectly. But later we have seen her in negative role for the super hit Malayalam movie – Seniors, played by Jayaram, Biju Menon and Kunjacko Boban.

In addition to playing leading actress role, she has done supporting actress role in Mohan Lal’s Red wine and Lokpal. She has done guest appearance role in a few movies like Padmashree Bharat Dr.Saroj Kumar, Elsamma enna aan kutty and Swapna sanchari. Though she is busy in all south Indian languages and a familiar face in South, she is still counted among the struggling actresses. After getting a meaty role in her debut movie Mulla, she was not able to maintain a momentum. Yet, she has achieved a unique record of acting in all south Indian movies and in distant future we may see her growing as a fine actress.

‘Aattakada’ opposite Vineeth is just to release, the movie based on classical art forms. A few movies under production include 4^th Degree, Black Forest and Kadal Kadannoru Manavaatti. Her Kannada projects as debut heroine are yet to release this year.
