Rahul Dev is a well known actor of Indian movies, known for negative roles. Dev is known for his unconventional rugged looks and stunning performance in action films. His best known performances (Hindi) are Dus (Unreleased), Champion, Supari, 88 Antop Hill, Bardaasht, Iqraar by Chance, D, U Me Aur Hum, Blue, Footpath, Awara Paagal Deewana and Asoka. He is equally famous in south Indian movies as well as Oriya, Punjabi and Bengali. A few of his Punjabi movies are Dharti, Mirza The Untold Story, Meri Chargay Jawani Sohniyeh and Jatt Boys - Putt Jattan De. Rahul Dev's brother Mukul Dev is also an actor who is known for the movie, Dastak and a few television serials. He has been regularly featured in PETA protesting against keeping animals in Zoo.

Rahul’s full name is Rahul Dev Samra. He was born in 1968 in Delhi as the son of City police commissioner, Delhi. Dev did his schooling from St. Columba's School, Delhi. He was a good cricket player also. Yet he wanted to study than to concentrate on sports. He married Rina when he was 24 years old. He has been dating her since he was 17. Rina was one year older than him. But she died in 2009, battling with cancer.

Rahul debut Bollywood in the year 1997. This movie was shelved due to the unexpected death of its producer. Thus he debut in the year 2000 with the movie ‘Champion’. Though the movie was a flop, his looks gained quick attention. He won six awards, including a Filmfare nomination, for his Bollywood debut in 2000. In 2004, he won best villain award at Filmfare for his performance in Footpath. He acted in negative role in Mohanlal starrer Malayalam movie – Sagar Elias Jacky, sequel of Irupathaam noottandu. He has been quite successful in Telugu movies also.
