Raageshwari Biography

Raageshwari is one of the top voices of pop albums of India. With her debut album, Duniya (1997) she made a grand entry to Indian musical world. It was followed by the success of Pyaar Ka Rangand sach ke saath, both released in 1998. She was one of the ruling female stars of pop music during late 1990’s. She played supporting role in super hit comedy movie, Mein Khiladi tu anari where she played Akshay Kumar’s younger sister and Saif Ali Khan’s co-actress. She participated in fifth season of the reality television show Bigg Boss and was evicted at the 21st day of the show. She was named 'Positive Raaga and the messenger of peace'. She has hosted many television shows and has also worked as VJ doing 1990’s.

 

She was born in Mumbai as the daughter of National award winning music composer, Trilok Singh Loomba in 1977. She studied from Auxilium Convent High School. She started modelling since childhood. As a teenager she debut Bollywood with the movie Zid in 1994. It was followed by two hits in a row – Aakhen and Mein khiladi tu anari. She entered television as a VJ hosting the musical countdown show – BPL Oye. She got the nick name Ragz during this time.

 

Actually her singing debut album ‘Duniya’ was rejected by many music companies. Later she shot its video at Maldives and the song, ‘Ta tara ra ra’ became one of the top songs of the year, placing Raageshwari as an established female pop singer. Her dance steps also helped a lot in establishing her career. One after the other, her music videos became immensely popular. ‘Is haat le use dede’ of Pyar ra raag also worth mentioning. In 2000, after the release of her third album Y2K Saal Do Hazaar, Raageshwari was diagnosed with Bell's palsy in a concert. She took a small break from the industry and returned back as television host. Ek do teen and Baar baar dekho on MTV, Kuch Kehti Hai Yeh Dhun on Sony, Quest for BBC and One on One With Raageshwari on TEN Sports are a few successful television shows hosted by this beautiful singer. "Osaka Muraiya" of 1 2 ka 4 was sung by Raageshwari.
