Pritish Chakraborty is an Indian actor, film maker and entrepreneur from Bengal. He made his directorial debut in Bollywood in the year 2012 with his own scripted story - Chal Pichchur Banate Hain. He is the MD and CEO of film production company, Ascent Films Pvt Ltd. He is also known as a singer and lyricist. Happy Independence Day and Mangal ho are his upcoming Bollywood ventures as a film maker. “Mangal Ho!” is his second Bollywood movie as Writer – Director and his first as an Actor-Director. The romantic comedy hits screen in 2014 where he is to make his Bollywood debut as an actor.

Since childhood Pritish has been fascinated by the world of movies. At the age of 16 he predetermined that he is to enter the world of cinema soon after studies. So, after his studies he started off as an assistant director to know more about cinema. He also started writing for cinema and television before making his directorial debut. Chakraborty wrote and directed a number of short films before venturing into feature films. Chal Pichchur Banate Hain is a comedy drama which marked the directorial debut of Pritish. He was also its scriptwriter. The film is a delightful satirical take on the Hindi film industry and was appreciated for its fresh content. The movie starred a list of newcomers with Rahil Tandon and Bhavna Ruparel in lead roles. However the movie couldn’t cash out from ticket windows.

Happy Independence Day and Mangal Ho! are his upcoming movies. He is to debut as an actor through Mangal Ho! He took training in classical music in his childhood. He is also trained in Western, Bollywood and Latin Dances. Recently he has signed a three-film deal with Producer Harshal Badane.
