Noel Tata Biography 
Noel Tata is an Indian businessman and a member of Tata group of industries. He currently serves as the chairman of Trent Ltd and Tata Investment Corporation, and the managing director of Tata International. Noel Tata is the son of Naval Tata, the adapted member to the Tata family. Ratan Tata – the most prominent member of Tata group is his half-brother. Both his parents - Naval Tata and Simone Tata were established names in business. Though he was groomed as the successor of Ratan Tata, later his brother-in-law Cyrus Mistry was announced as the successor. However Cyrus Mistry was removed as the chairman of Tata Sons, and Ratan Tata took over as chairman of the group.
Noel Tata was born in 1957. Born as the son of Naval Tata and Simone Tata, he also joined Tata group of industries. Some of the prominent members of Tata family include - Jamsetji Tata, Dorabji Tata and Ratan Tata. His father who was a distant relative of Tata family was adapted by Ratanji Tata and his wife Navajbai Sett from an orphanage at the age of 13. His father married twice. He was first married to Soonoo and had two sons. One of them is Ratan Tata. The couple legally separated in mid-1940s and he later married Simone Tata in 1955. Noel was born to this couple.
Noel Tata studied management and business from INSEAD Business School in France, before he joined family business. He began his career at Tata International, which offered products and services abroad. In 1999, he was appointed as the MD of Trent, founded by his mother. His mother was of Swizz origin, who established herself in business in India, and previously was a board member of Lakme cosmetic group in India. Trent was later renamed as Westside. In 2003 he became the director of Titan Industries and of Voltas. Though there were speculations that he would be successor of Ratan Tata, it’s yet to happen.
