Mohnish Bahl Biography

Mohnish Bahl is a successful actor of Bollywood most popular for character roles as well as supporting artist. He is the son of great actress of yesterday’s – Nutan. Mohnish Bahl is a member of the Mukherjee-Samarth family. Tanuja is his maternal aunt and Kajol and Tanisha are his first cousins. He is married to Aarthi Bahl.  Mohnish Bahl is best known for his roles as a supporting actor in several films through the 1990s of which his association with Rajshree films has been quite successful. He has worked for Sooraj Barjatya Movies like Hum aapke hain kaun, Miene pyar kiya, Hum saath saath hain and Vivah of which his roles in Hum aapke hain kaun and Hum saath saath hain as the elder brother of Salman Khan have been prominent. He played doctor’s role in blockbuster Vivaah.  In the recent times, he has worked in Force, Chance pe dance and Dezi boys. He is a successful television actor also.

Mohnish Bahl was born on 14 August 1961 in Mumbai as the son of actress Nutan and Rajnish Bahl. He entered Bollywood during early 80’s. Despite having good looks and sweet smile, he has been successful in supporting roles only. His movies during 80’s include – Dancer, Bekaraar, Teri Bahon Mein, Meri Adalat, Beqaraar, Purana Mandir, Maine Pyar Kiya and Itihaas. From the movie Maine pyar kiya onwards, he began to do negative shaded roles too. Yet his positive roles in Rajshree productions - Hum aapke hain kaun and Hum saath saath hain were well received by public. He was quite successful as a character artist as well as negative shade roles.

His best roles during 90’s include Shola aur shabnam, Baaghi, Deewana, Henna, Ek Hi Raasta, Bol Radha bol, Platform, Elaan, Aashiq Awara, Eena meena teeka, Prem rog, Kartavya, Sabse bada khiladi, Angarakshak, Ajay, Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhootha, Army, Kyo Kii... Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta, Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, Sirf tum, Astitva, Raja Hindustani, Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, Koyla and Pardesi Babu. Apart from Hum aapke hain kaun and Hum saath saath hain, his most memorable performances are Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, Astitva, Chance pe dance, Shola aur shabnam, Kyo Kii... Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta, Bol radha bol and Sabse bada khiladi.
