Malavika Wales Biography

Malavika Wales is a Malayalam film actress and a trained classical dancer. She has worked in other South Indian languages as well. She hails from Thrissur, Kerala. She made her acting debut in Malarvaadi Arts Club, the debut movie of Vineeth Srinivasan as a director. This movie was successful at box office too. But the movie in which she acted first was Makara manju directed by Lenin Rajendran. Her first acting experience in a documentary film titled ‘Aisha’ when she was eleven years old.

Malavika was born on July 19, 1992 in Thrissur main town. She did her schooling at Hari Sri Vidya Nidhi School, Thrissur, one of the top schools of the main town. Then she went to Anupam Kher’s acting school at Mumbai to do a Diploma in Acting. Now she is doing BA literature in IGNOU. Malavika started formal learning in dance at the age of 6 and her arangettam (first public appearance) was done at famous Guruvayur Krishna temple. She has learned under maestros such as Kalamandalam Kshemavathy and Kalamandalam Prasanna Unni. She is proficient in Bharat Natyam, Mohiniyattam and Kuchipudi.

Before entering movies, she participated in Miss Kerala contest in the year 2009 at the age of 16. She was able to reach third round only, but won ‘Miss Beautiful Eyes’ award. Later when Vineeth was searching for a new face for heroine’s role for his debut movie as a director, he happened to see photos of Malavika. Thus Malarvadi arts club happened to her. This movie was released in the year 2010. Makaramanju was released 2 years later in 2012.

Apart from these movies, her released Malayalam movies are My Fan Ramu (2013), Innaana kalyanam (2012) and Aattakatha (2013). In the Malayalam movie Aattakatha, based on an art theme, Vineeth plays the lead role along with Meera Nandan. Nandeesha is her single non-Malayalam movie released till now. This Kannada movie was a remake of Malayalam hit Thilakkam, where Dileep and Kavya Madhavan played the lead roles. She reprised the leading role played by Kavya in this movie. her two Tamil movies - Azhagu Magan and Arasuvai Arasan and debut Telugu movie, Dhaari are slated to release this 2013.
