Leela Roy Ghosh Biography 
Leela Roy Ghosh was a well-established dubbing artist who owned Sound & Vision India (SVI), which is located in Andheri, Mumbai. She was its founder president and the studio is well-known for the dubbing works of several Hollywood projects to Hindi and other regional languages. In 1993, she dubbed the Hollywood blockbuster – Jurassic Park, and it proved to be the turning point of Leela’s career as well as Indian dubbing field. The movie was dubbed to Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages. Leading dubbing artist of Bollywood cinema at present - Mona Ghosh Shetty is the daughter of Leela, who undertakes the dubbing works of Sound & Vision India, which to-date has dubbed over 300 films, apart from hundreds of cartoons and television serials.
Leela Roy Ghosh was born in Mumbai on February 3, 1948. She has been an artist before her foray to dubbing field. She has been a voice artist and singer of Gujarati cinema. Leela along with her daughter Mona Ghosh Shetty has worked together in the 1990s to make Sound & Vision India one of the leading studios of the country. Encouraged by the success of Hollywood blockbuster – Jurassic Park, they later dubbed several Hollywood movies for Indian audience. After Jurassic Park, she got assignments in ad jingles and also dubbed films in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and many other languages. Sound & Vision India was started a couple of years after the success of Jurassic Park.
Apart from dubbing works, Ghosh also directed a few documentary films. Spiderman, Jumangi and Anaconda are her most popular dubbed movies. Almost 70% of Hollywood movies dubbed to Indian languages are done in Sound & Vision India. Leela has learnt social anthropology and has also worked in Union Ministry of Tourism London prior to her entry to dubbing field. She passed away in 2012. She is the granddaughter of famous journalist - Karmabir Gouri Sankar Roy.
